Ok guys. Just wanted to let you all know that I REALLY enjoyed reading all of your responses to my questions (even if they were completely irrelevant to the question I asked). It was almost to the point that I actually WANTED to check my email at home because I knew that there would be something entertaining to read (instead of just spam, though I could consider some of those comments spam....).
Thanks very much for doing such a good job with the readings, and for inciting some very thoughtful discussion.
Last Question: If you had a large sum of money and were forced to send each of your favourite English teachers (and by that I mean myself and Mrs. Douziech) on a trip (for the sake of your IB grade, of course), where would it be?

Journal Topic #4
I don't remember what the 4th journal topic is, so the first person who posts it here gets a million bonus marks. And my eternal gratitude. And, well, nothing besides that because that's all you should need to get you through life.

Symbolic Idea #1
What does the red coat in Walsh represent?
How is the use of the red coat in Walsh similar to and different from the use of the kite in The Kite Runner?

Sound Effects
This question is much more open ended than previous questions
Find an example in the stage directions where sound effects are used. Tell us the page number, the direction and how it affects the flow of the play.
PLEASE use your name somewhere in your response.
NB. If you are going to claim that you are a literary god, make sure you spell all the words in your comment correctly.

Second Reading....
How does Pollock present the relationship between Walsh and Sitting Bull? Which of the two has more power in this relationship? Why?
First Reading...
What are some of the comments that Pollock makes on ourcontemporary society? Why does she veil it in the discussion of Fort Walsh and the situation surrounding Sitting Bull rather than a contemprary play?

Thematic Concern #1
In the play, we notice that Sharon Pollock uses character doubling. Thinking specifically of the poker players (Prologue) and Louis (the play proper), what is the effect of that doubling? (Remember that in the Prologue, the poker players say nothing, and in Acts One and Two, Louis is one of the most vocal characters)
